Recollections of WWII in South and Southeast Asia
Did you or your family with Indian ancestry live in Burma (present-day Myanmar) or Malaya (present-day Malaysia and Singapore)? Did you grow up with family stories about fleeing to safety to escape hostilities during World War II? Did your families stay back, finding shelter and support, in Burma and Malaya? I would be honored if you are interested in sharing these recollections with me! If you would like to speak, please fill in the form below. Conversations do not have to be in English.
These stories will be used only in the context of a scholarly monograph about postwar South and Southeast Asia that I am working on. For a description of the project, see here.
